| New contract with Edison Welding Institute (EWI) |
|
Edison Welding Institute has chosen WeldEye® Welding Procedure module from Weldindustry AS. The signed contract covers implementation of WeldEye® Welding Procedure module at Edison Welding Institute’s own IT infrastructure, concurrent user licenses, Super user training as well as Maintenance & Support contracts. Having Edison Welding Institute as a reference customer in the US market is strategically very important for us, says Tore Haukanes, CEO in Weldindustry AS. We are very happy that Edison Welding Institute has concluded that our WeldEye® application covers their strict requirements for documenting Welding Procedures (WPQR and WPS). USA is an emerging market place for us. Having this contract signed now, and at the same time being present at FABTECH, (Successful at FABTECH) shows a good timing in which we expect will result in additional business for our welding software application. We have already had a long relationship with Edison Welding Institute which has been using WeldEye® as an internal Pilot project for a period of time. This work has produced additional development by Weldindustry to support Friction Stir Welding layouts (FSW) as well. This has been tested and accepted and is now included in the Edison Welding Institute version of the WeldEye® application, as well as ISO, ASME IX and AWS D.1.1. Edison Welding Institute has in addition been a great contributor and an important partner during the implementation of WeldEye® into Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center concluded Tore Haukanes.
