The User Group Meeting 2008 is now over. Thanks to all participants for coming and actively participating in discussions and group works.
A short summary of the event: Mr. Tore Haukanes from Weldindustry AS started at 10:15 with welcoming all participants and walked through the agenda for the coming two days. He held the introductory remarks with a summary of what has happened with WeldEye® since last User Group Meeting in 2007 and a description of Weldindustry AS organization and how we prepare and secure ourselves for the future.
At 11:00 Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG), with Mr. Herman Slot held a very interesting presentation about the HFG Coresys project: The history, why WeldEye® was the chosen product and how HFG have experienced the corporation with Weldindustry AS from start of project to going live. After lunch, Mr. Benny D Karlsson (Kockums AB) held an informative presentation describing how their internal process flow works and how they are using WeldEye® for planning, executing and reporting Inspection plans and reports. Kockums AB is currently the only customer who is using this part of the WeldEye® application, and several customers found it very interesting to see how Kockums AB has solved it and are willing to go in the same direction.
At 13:00 Mr. Torbjørn Johnsson from Weldindustry AS held a presentation of WeldEye®, what is currently supported and what is to come in the future. Topics covered were: versions, current and future technologies, and features to come, including integration concepts, reporting tools, and new topics in the Welding Procedure module.
After the break, Mr. Jarle Mortensen from Weldindustry AS presented the focus and goals of project management and how roles, responsibilities and process control will help and support executing projects. Also a quick look at what has been done internally at Weldindustry AS the last 6 month was presented with issues like Sales process, ISO and Quality Manuals, New standard templates, Project cost calculation tool, New and updated contracts, new process etc.
The new support process was also described. It is our goal to be able to track Support issues through the use of this tool in order to further improve our Customer support.
At 14:00 the group work started. All participants where divided into 6 different groups. 10 different topics where listed for discussion and each group would present its findings afterwards. A lot of interesting topics came up and will be handled internally in Weldindustry AS as guidance for future planning. Thanks to all for your participation and contribution in these discussions! At 16:30 the day one ended with a sum up of Mr. Tore Haukanes which included: Very stable application We are in control Prepared for the future Growing market share THE welding application
Evening party and social event started at 19:00 with a Horse shoe throwing competition (magically won by Tore Haukanes from Weldindustry AS…), drinks and discussions before we entered into a nicely decorated room with excellent food and drinks. All this was supported by the group List, which held a concert which was very much appreciated and enjoyed by everyone. After dinner it was….well…for those of us who where there….we know …FUN!
The second day was held at Aker Solution where Einar Bjelland held a presentation of the different challenges they have experience during the building of the worlds biggest H- 6e oil rigs. Unfortunately the site visit to the rig was not according to plan and was cancelled.
The WeldEye® Open Golf Tournament was planned to start at 13:00, but due to heavy rain this was cancelled and an alternative indoor mini golf tournament was held. The individual winner this year was Roland Karlsson from Kockums AB. The winning team was Team3 (Mr. Tore Brubråten from Va Tech AS, Tore Haukanes from Weldindustry AS, Jan Gunnar Sletten from Teknologisk Institutt Sertifisering AS and Jarle Mortensen from Weldindustry AS).
Again, from all of us in Weldindustry AS, thanks a lot for coming, thank you for your contribution and hope to see you during next year’s WeldEye® User Group Meeting 2009. |
