The Finnish corporation Rautaruukki ( www.ruukki.com ), a supplier of high quality metal-based components, systems and integrated systems to the construction and mechanical engineering industries, have signed a corporate agreement with Weldindustry AS at Stord, Norway.

The agreement covers rollout of the WeldEye® application at Ruukki, which has operations in 25 countries and employs 15.000 people.

Weldindustry AS and its product WeldEye® were evaluated against multiple national and international providers on functionality, administrative and commercial aspects and we at Weldindustry AS are happy and thrilled to be selected as the preferred vendor.

The scope of delivery includes implementation of WeldEye® application, training and enabling of Key Users, integration with SAP and support for multiple languages.

By choosing WeldEye® application, Ruukki will improve control on welding procedures, welding certificates and administration and control of welding related processes in the organization regardless of location, which leads to effective production and uniformed working methodology in the whole chain and by this, save cost.

”This will increase our internal control and traceability as well as increase productivity since our production processes will be done in a uniform way across divisions, countries and cultures. Also, since WeldEye® is a centralized solution which can be reached from all Ruukki sites, as well as supporting multiple languages, it will have a positive effect on how we execute our work” says Pauli Janhunen, Welding Coordinator at Ruukki Engineering.

”Having a big international organization like Ruukki choose WeldEye® as a corporate solution shows that our product is the preferred solution with respect to functionality, user friendliness and future proof technology. In addition, an international roll-out like this will help us reach our goal to make the WeldEye® application an industry standard. It also shows confidence in Weldindustry AS that we have the skills and organization necessary for such a big implementation project,” says Tore Haukanes, Managing Director of Weldindustry AS.

The project will start in August and will be implemented stepwise during the autumn. Firstly WeldEye® application will be installed at Ruukki in Finland in order for Super User training and integration project to start. Afterwards, additional packages with multi language support will be implemented according to Ruukki roll-out plan.

“Having well defined processes as well as a good customer dialog is vital to secure all Ruukki requirements during implementation and a successful roll-out” says Jarle Mortensen, Project Manager at Weldindustry AS.
